Sammy and his two litter mates were dumped at the shelter in the middle of the nite with no note. These adorable 8 mo. old Golden Retriever / Shephard mixes were afraid of everything… leashes, people, and life.
Save Ohio Strays heard of their final day, and responded. “We could not just take one or two – who was going to tell the other that they didn’t get a second chance on life?” said the President, Sandy Caldwell. She asked the shelter manager to hold them for a few extra hours while we figured out how to take all three.
We are blessed with wonderful foster homes like Teri & Charlie, who stepped up to the plate to take on two, while Sandy took the third.
Teri, who already has 7 foster kitties for us, jumped in to save all three on D Day. Dr. Pepin graciously fitted them in to check for heartworm and give them their shots.
They now all enjoy the opportunity to find a real home and real love for the first time in their short, little lives.
These are a great example of what we do. They are completely placeable and lovable animals in need of a little training and loving homes. If you can’t open your home to them, then maybe you can consider sponsoring them?
