SAVE OHIO STRAYS
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Save Ohio Strays is a non-profit, all volunteer companion animal rescue organization operating in Medina County and surrounding areas. Our mission is to save companion animals destined for euthanasia, promote the benefits of spaying and neutering pets and to educate on proper pet care.
If you would like to become a volunteer and help save a life, call us at 440-567-3585, email us at [email protected] or simply print and return our Volunteer Form
FOSTER HOME
Do "purrs", "wags" or "puppy kisses" make your day? Then consider being a cat or dog foster home. We NEED caring, responsible pet lovers to join our foster home team by opening their homes and their hearts. Foster homes provide the love, security and daily care a rescued animal needs. Animals are vet checked prior to placement within your home.
TRANSPORTERS
Volunteers are needed to transport animals to and from adoption day events, to and from vet appointments and to pick up donations. Use of your personal vehicle is required.
HUMANE EDUCATION
Are you good at speaking in front of others? We need volunteers to make presentations to schools, youth groups and community groups. Through education, we can promote the proper care of animals and the importance of responsible pet ownership.
COMMUNITY EVENT COORDINATORS
Volunteers are needed to help with the promotion, coordinating, and planning of community events. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with people and being creative.
FUND RAISING
SOS receives no federal, state or local funding, so our fundraising events are a crucial part of the financing we need to operate. Volunteers are needed to contact merchants for donations, sell tickets, cover a shift at an event and plan events. New faces and ideas are always welcome!
GRANT WRITING
Is written communication your area of expertise? We need enthusiastic team players to raise money by writing grants.
